Cooroy/Pomona Lions Club
The Cooroy/Pomona Lions Club is centred around the beautiful Noosa hinterland towns of Cooroy and Pomona. The club meets twice a month in our own clubhouse at Pomona. We currently have 20 hardworking and dedicated community minded members.
Our members are ordinary people doing extraordinary things like supporting people with a disability, assisting in the community and fundraising for worthwhile causes.
Here is the local map to our clubhouse.

Be a part of the change. If you are considering joining our club please call and say hello and see what we do. We would love to hear from you.
Our Board Meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7pm at our clubhouse (the old Scout Hall) at the corner of Mountain and Hospital Streets at Pomona. We also meet at our clubhouse for dinner on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Dinner meetings commence at 7pm.
Lions Clubs began in the USA in 1917 when a group of independent clubs responded to a call from a young Chicago insurance agent who wanted to launch a club that had community service as its primary aim, and so Lions was born.
Worldwide, we have 1.3 million members in 205 countries and geographic areas, making Lions the world's largest and most active service organisation.
As Lions members our aim is to meet the needs of our local communities and the world.
Join us in making our communities and the world better places to live.
What we do.
At Lions the emphasis is on community service. Our programs support anybody who needs our help.
Programs are conducted on a local, national and international level. Please refer to http://www.lionsclubs.org.au/ for additional information on our national and international programs. At the local level, clubs are involved in many projects to support their communities.
Most Lions clubs meet twice a month, usually over dinner. Our dinner meetings often feature interesting guest speakers and are a great way to meet new people.
As a Member
Lions members, like others in the community, are busy people. It is important that members participate in their club activities at a level that allows for work, family and other personal commitments.
Our members are men and women of all ages, occupations and interests. We are non-sectarian and non-political.
Members have the opportunity to develop their leadership and organisational abilities if they choose. There are many executive positions at the club, zone, district, national and international level for members to seek should they choose.
Becoming a Lion
Lions club members are men and women who strive to make a difference in their local community as well as in communities worldwide. Their volunteer efforts go beyond the support of vision care, to addressing unmet health and education needs worldwide.
If you would like to know more about our club, please contact our Membership Chairman David Hateley-James on 07 54476973 or email him at email@example.com or write to the club at PO Box 144, Pomona Q4568.
